As "Straight Edge" Brian Fury celebrates his birthday today, he is inching closer and closer to becoming the longest reigning MWF Television Champion in company history if he can retain the gold through mid-summer.
"Die Hard" Eddie Edwards (the first MWF TV Champion) held the gold from February 2005 when he won the tournament finals until dropping it in controversial fashion to "Million Dollar Investment" Tommaso Ciampa in a triple threat match with TNA superstar AJ Styles in September 2007.
Fury won the title in a four way thirty minute Iron Man Match at SOUL SURVIVOR V defeating champion "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal, along with "Slyck" Wagner Brown and "Hurricane" John Walters in a tremendous match November 15th, 2008.
On the May MWF Xtra: The John Cena Sr. Show, Fury defends against J-Busta in Busta's final attempt to save his job as well as win the title in one night. From there, he goes on to face his nemesis (and former TV Champion as well) Tommaso Ciampa in a Last Man Standing Match, which President Cena has stated is Ciampa's final crack at the gold while Fury is champion if he's unsuccessful.
With so many hungry, young athletes targeting him, can Fury pull off the impossible and break Edwards record?? The MWF's 10th anniversary summer is heating up already!!
