In one of the most anticipated wrestling matches in MWF history, President Cena has signed a four-way 30 minute Iron Man Match for the Millennium Wrestling Federation Television Championship. MWF TV champion and TNA superstar "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal defends the title against "Slyck" Wagner Brown, "Hurricane" John Walters and "Straight Edge" Brian Fury at SOUL SURVIVOR V November 15th!
Lethal made his MWF debut in September 2007 and has been at war with The Uprising faction ever since, culminating in his finally winning the MWF TV Title from "Million Dollar Investment" Tommaso Ciampa this summer after an impressive nine month reign in his own right. After the victory, Machismo's friend "Slyck" Wagner Brown came into the ring to congratulate the new champion, only to be beaten down and stabbed in the back. Slyck announced his allegiance to The Uprising and adding fuel to an already burining fire between Lethal and The Uprising.
"Slyck" Wagner Brown is an MWF original, winning the first match in company history September 28th, 2001 in Revere, MA. For years, we've continued to hear the phrase "Slyck Wagner Brown has done it all in New England. . .except win an MWF championship." This spring, he had an opportunity to win both singles championships, but came up with losses in a TV Title match against Ciampa as well as being pinned by MWF Heavyweight Champion Todd Hanson on the May MWF ULTRA. Sources say championship losses back to back months on ULTRA is what set Slyck off to join The Uprising in an effort to have some muscle watching his back. His pinfall victory over TNA superstar Chris Sabin this summer on ULTRA sealed his particpation in this match. How hungry is Slyck for gold that he'd spit on his fans, his friend Jay Lethal, as well as the MWF?? If Slyck finally wins the big one, he'll have many enemies on the hunt for him, including Homicide of LAX, who he humiliated over the summer, as well.
"Hurricane" John Walters made his MWF debut in October 2002 and is perhaps pound for pound the finest wrestler to ever come out of New England. Every match he competes in is a must-see for fans and fellow competitors as well. Walters has found great success wherever he has competed. His only MWF championship opportunity came at SOUL SURVIVOR III in a losing effort to "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards and Fergal Devitt and what many fans have called the best match in MWF history. Walters walked away with a big win over Edwards this summer on MWF ULTRA, which prompted President Cena to include him in the big one November 15th.
"Straight Edge" Brian Fury is another MWF original and was in fact the oppononent of Slyck at our debut event in 2001. Early on, Fury showed a tremendous amount of potential, and after a hiatus, is back in the Federation on fire. On the September ULTRA, Fury came away with what some called an upset over Ciampa, prompting The Uprising to try to destroy Fury's knee after the match. Ciampa was suspended by Cena for leading the attack on Fury as well as Scott Reed but Fury wants a piece of The Uprising and will have just that with Slyck being part of this match.
This isn't the main event? Don't say that too loud around these four athletes. How do you pick a favorite?? The champion has to compete against three opponents and has to calculate every move and pinfall attempt, as the winner has to have the most pinfall decisions within a half hour. Alll four athletes are of similar size and experience. What will be the ultimate test of endurance for these men will be a match worth the price of admission alone for the fans in attendance.
